Carl Stone

Carl Stone performs recent works for solo computer including compositions from his recent CD AL-Noor (Intone). He has composed electro-acoustic music almost exclusively since 1972, using computers in live performance since 1986, and has been hailed by the Village Voice as "the king of sampling" and "one of the best composers living in the USA today."

Dennis Rea & Friends

Noted guitarist and veteran of the Northwest creative music milieu Dennis Rea leads sets by three widely varied groupings: unclassifiable improvised music for electric guitar trio with Tom Baker and Brian Heaney; the Tanabata Ensemble - Dennis Rea (acoustic guitar), Elizabeth Falconer (koto), John Falconer (shakuhachi), Jim DeJoie (bass flute, reeds), Greg Campbell & Paul Kikuchi (percussion) - performs an arrangement of an ancient Chinese piece; and Tempered Steel, a trio with Ffej and Frank Junk playing improvised music on a variety of amplified, electronically processed thumb pianos.
